Down in Happy Holler on Hominy Lane
Henry the Hedgehog was riding his bike one day
He hit a hard bump that made his tire go flat
Henry said "What in the world am I gonna do about that?"

Just then he heard a friendly little voice say "Hello"
It was Howie the Hare his friend from down the road
Howie said "Henry what’s that big frown for"
Henry said, "My bicycle doesn’t work anymore"

Howie said "Henry I know just what you should do."
"You’re bicycle is broken. You need bicycle glue."
"But that’s the kinda thing you’ll never find around here."
"You’ll have to go to Hooperville. They’re sure to have it there."

Henry said "Hooperville? I don’t know the way."
Howie said, "It’s easy. You can get there in a day!"
I can tell you how to get to Hooperville if you really wish.
I know just how to get there. The directions are a cinch."

You’ve gotta hop, hop, hop through Huckleberry Field
You’ve gotta hitch a ride on a humpback whale
You’ve gotta hike, hike, hike up Honeysuckle Hill
And hang a left at the holly bush to get to Hooperville

Well Henry said "Hoping through a field sounds really hard."
"I’m a hedgehog don’t you see. My legs are kinda short."
Howie said "Henry leave it up to me"
"We hares know how to hop. I can teach you easily"

So Howie showed Henry how to hop just like a hare
And they hopped across Huckleberry Field without a care.
But on the other side they came upon the sea
Where a Hermit crab named Herman was sitting on the beach.

Herman said, "How are ya? Where are you guys off to?"
Henry said "Hooperville to get bicycle glue"
"But we need find a humpback whale to give us a ride"
"Seems we’re at the right sea but on the wrong side."

Herman said "Hooperville. That sounds very swell."
"I’ve never been anywhere outside my lonely shell."
"Tell you what, I know how to speak to the whales."
"I’ll call one over for you if I can tag along as well."

Henry said "You can come to Hooperville if you wish"
"We know just how to get there. The directions are a cinch."

You’ve gotta hike, hike, hike up Honeysuckle Hill
And hang a left at the holly bush to get to Hooperville

So Herman the Hermit crab called a humpback whale
And the three sailed across the sea and came to Honeysuckle Hill
But Honeysuckle Hill was too steep to climb
When a hummingbird named Hortense came hovering by.

Hortense said, "Hi Where are you off to?"
Henry said "Hooperville to get bicycle glue"
We need to find a way to get to the top"
"Seems we’ve touched down in the right place but we need to be up"

Hortense said, "Hooperville, that sounds really nice"
"Well I’ve flown up and down this hill about a thousand times"
"Tell you what, I’ll show you an easy path up this hill"
"If you take me with you when you go to Hooperville"

Henry said "You can come to Hooperville if you wish"
"We know just how to get there. The directions are a cinch"

You’ve gotta hop, hop, hop through Huckleberry Field
You’ve gotta hitch a ride on a humpback whale
You’ve gotta hike, hike, hike up Honeysuckle Hill
And hang a left at the holly bush to get to Hooperville

So they followed Hortense Hummingbird who led them to the top
The path was really easy. They didn’t have to stop.
And at the very tippy top, holly bush they found
Where a hound dog named Horatio was sniffing at the ground

Horatio said "Howdy. Where are you off to?"
Henry said "Hooperville to get bicycle glue"
"We need to go left, but we can’t decide"
"Seems we know right from wrong, but just not left from right"

Horatio said, "I can guide you. I’m a hunting dog"
"Why I know the direction left like the back of my right paw"
"Tell you what, I’ll guide you left. I promise that I will."
"If you take me with you when you go to Hooperville"

Henry said "You can come to Hooperville if you wish"
"We know just how to get there. The directions are a cinch."

You’ve gotta hike, hike, hike up Honeysuckle Hill
And hang a left at the holly bush to get to Hooperville

Well Henry, and Howie, Herman, and Hortence
Followed old Horatio. And in his defense
He led them left to Hooperville and Henry got his glue
But to when it was time to go back, he didn’t know what to do

You see to get back to Happy Holler, he didn’t know which way to go
So he asked a horse named Harry who was standing in the road
Harry said, "You really can’t go back the same way that you came."
"To get back to Happy Holler, there’s only one way."

"You’ve got to take a hot air balloon and then a helicopter ride"
"And for the final part, you’re going to need to know how to hang-glide"
Well, Henry was afraid of heights, as everyone knows well.
So to this very day, he lives in Hooperville
