Outside the snow is falling.  Christmas time is here
From top to bottom our whole house is decked in Yule tide cheer
Every inch is covered in holiday decor
There’s nothing left to decorate, well maybe just one thing more

This year for Christmas we’re gonna decorate the cat
I made a decision to break with tradition, and there’s no turning back
When we get done dressing him up, he’s gonna look so pretty
Got a whole box of ornaments left so “ Here kitty kitty…”

String his collar with jingle bells, hang candy canes on his tail
He’ll look just like a furry little elf
Last year I bought him a Christmas scarf but he would not go near it
It’s about time that feline got in the Holiday spirit

This year for Christmas we’re gonna decorate the cat
It might sound crazy, but I think that maybe we’re gonna start a brand new fad
A fir tree wrapped in popcorn strings, that just sounds old hat
So this year for Christmas we’re gonna decorate the cat

Drape his back with garland, put a Santa hat upon his head
And paint his little claws green and red,
The dog is nowhere to be seen he’s hiding in the kitchen
Staying really still, making no noise, trying not to draw attention

Trees are so expensive and a lot of work at that

My Mom and Dad think it’s a bad idea
But we’re gonna be the envy of the neighborhood this year
When we put him in the window and turn off the lights, everyone will sing
Christmas carols and the cat will join in

An opportunity to save a tree, well, that just can’t be bad

We’ll decorate the cat this year, he’s gonna look so nice
Gotta a little tiny sweater with a snowflake pattern and blinking Christmas lights
We’ll put some reindeer antlers on, and cover them in ornaments
And put him in a stocking with a little sprig of holly underneath his chin

Top him off with a big red Christmas bow
And set him in a pile of artificial snow
He does not look happy.  Well cats never do.
But it’ll look so good on the Internet when we’re through
